Six roles around one project.
Six roles across four groups: students, mentors (professors and company engineers), companies and institutions, plus the platform admins who review them. Everyone joins with a work or institutional email and starts as a student.
Student
- Join with your university or work email. Your domain links you to your institution.
- Start a project, or apply to a team that is already building.
- Keep a progress log: updates, milestones, launches and blockers.
- Ask your team’s mentor for help when you are stuck.
- Save roles to come back to, and apply with the resume saved on your profile.
Professor
- Own and administer a project without being counted as one of its builders.
- Mentor teams if you opt in, up to the capacity you set.
- Follow the projects that matter to your course.
Employee
- Mentor student teams from inside a company on Riven, if you opt in and up to the number you set.
- Join by invitation, or request the role and have an admin review it.
Company admin
- Create your organization and get it verified.
- Publish roles and review applicants in the hiring console.
- Follow projects and read their logs before you reach out.
Institution manager
- Follow the projects your students are building.
- See where teams are blocked as they post it, without waiting for a status report.
Platform admin
- Invite staff by email and assign roles. The admin role itself is never granted by invitation.
- Review role requests and reports, verify organizations and read the audit log.
